I had...Jim - #50 was basically my jumping on point. I hadn't read much of the Busiek stuff before. I think that the thing is that we're not really supposed to know what exactly is going on. The main character doesn't really know what is going on. All that we really know is that the original Aquaman is dead (or is he?) and the young guy whose name is also Arthur Currie and has Aquaman's powers, is being called Aquaman. Barry is cool and all, but I think his death needs stay as is. Having read the first Crisis, I think it would be a shame to bring him back after such a heroic death. The sight of my brand new JLU Orion action figure secure in his Astro-Harness atop my coffee table made me feel better, though. <BR/><BR/>That panel of Donna with the machine gun just made me think of the bit in "Jackie Brown" with the "Chicks Who Love Guns" video. "Nothing comes between me and my AK!" <BR/><BR/>My favourite thing about this month's "Brave and the Bold" is the fact that, if I were a kid and picked up this issue, I not only would have gotten a complete and enjoyable story, but I also would have wanted to track down the previous issue because of the crazy first page, and wanted the next issue immediately because of the crazy last two-page spread.
