"I think you'll find this ball more...engaging."

Sooo...I'm getting married this summer. It isn't something I've ever mentioned on the blog before, but I thought that I may as well.

It's just one more thing on the long list of things that take up all of my time.

If comics have taught me anything, it's that a hastily planned wedding will have devastating results:

Let me be the first to post "congratulations"! I am probably the only reader that DIDN'T know. Thanks for the hours of entertainment. I understand how much time school and wedding planning can take. I think I speak for everyone when I say "we understand that you post when you can."

That's what happens when you skimp on your snake handler budget during wedding planning!

Please include in your vows that you won't make a deal with a demon that would annul your marriage to save a dying aunt. You know, just because

Rachelle! Don't get married! I love you! You are way hotter and know so much more about comics than my wife!

Love,

Two points:

1) Congratulations!

2) Excellent cover choice. Reading that issue was what an LSD trip must feel like. Or possibly a fever dream. "And then the Circus of Crime just shows up, man, and they're the caterers!" A true slice of awesome insanity from the Silver Age.

Weddings are stressful, true, but the Circus of Crime only show up like, what, 13% of the time? The odds are still in your favor.

Congratulations!

Congratulations! I just got married last October so I know how much that can eat into your free time.

I suppose recent events would preclude having a Spider-Man and Mary Jane cake topper. Maybe a Reed and Sue Storm one? Or a Kyle and Guy one?

So Batman finally said yes, eh? Congrats.

I knew Hank Pym beat his wife, but I didn't realize he attacked her with a giant serpent at their wedding reception. That's a terrible visual metaphor.

Will your impending marriage limit the number of posts you can write, or age the character of your blog?

Silly benito. Batman's only gonna be there for the fight.

congrats!

also, before you seal the deal, attempt to make sure your real husband wasn't switched with everyman, and that at the very least, everyman can achieve erection, and won't attempt to stab you.

Congratulations of course!
I selfishly hope that it doesn't interfere with this wonderfully entertaining blog.

Oh Congragulations Rachelle! Your fiance is obviously a lucky lucky man.

As for planning a wedding, just a little bit of thought and planning and you can avoid the hazards that have befallen OTHER super-hero weddings.

Firstly, be careful which bakery you get your cake from. Hiding giant snakes inside, MAY be guffaw-inducing, but they can also make quite the mess.

Please be sure to get a more...tasteful wedding dress than the one Black Canary showed up in. Really, you should save your lingerie for the Honeymoon, NOT the ceremony.

DON'T under any circumstances, invite Snapper Carr.

DO keep Batman around lurking. He can weed out the wedding crashers and assorted villains.

And finally, a Guy/Kyle cake topper would be just ADORABLE!

Thanks everyone!

I was thinking about Captain America/Captain America cake toppers. Bring back the love, y'know?

Planning a wedding sucks. I wish I had the Justice League to help me like Black Canary did. Although, I guess that didn't go so well either...

Matt wants to get a guy in a Batman suit to interrupt the ceremony, and then he'll beat him up and win my affections.

Congrats!

I'm getting married this summer as well.

I'm sure I'd be able to look forward to it more if, y'know, I had enough time to pitch in and help plan it properly.

The wedding word of the day is haphazard.

That's hilarious.
Congratulations and good luck with the planning!

Congrats to you and the future hubby! I hope that comics bloggers line up to defend your wedding from any problems, just like the Reed & Sue Richards wedding. Only, you know, with less Doom.

hey what weird dude on the internet said!! Except that I don't have a wife.

I know a guy in Dartmouth with two Batman suits (classic or movie) - probably available for a wedding. However, before Matt goes off half-cocked he should realize that with time to prepare Batman can beat anyone.

Okay, Tiina's funny.

And Matt is funny, too.

And I know that I've congratulated you in person, but it just *means* so much more on the Internet, you know?

Congrats!

Congratulations! I would also recommend inviting the floating, grimmacing heads of Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Panther, and Vision. They were a blast at my wedding.

Congratulations you crazy, comic-loving canuck, you!

That right there is the mark of a soulmate. :D

Wow, I'm a little late getting to the "congrats" party, but at least I showed up. Too bad all the food has been eaten and everybody's already drunk. Ah well, I can still have fun.

What was my point again? Oh yeah, congrats! I'm sure you will have the awesomest of weddings.

Yay for getting married. Yay for being awesome. Yay for being you.

Hope all is well missy.

You were just mentioned in an interview I did for my blog. Fancy that. Our paths cross again.

Congratulations! Now get with the reviews!

If we were to reenact this issue at your wedding, can I call dibs on playing the Clown?

Anonymous said...

Oh my God, congratulations!

Now how great would it be to actually make big paper Alarmed Superhero Heads to look down on you as you cut the cake? Really, Rachelle, I dare you.

Wonderful news; and may I suggest to you the benefits of the Costco wedding? Some frozen chicken strips, a bag of perogies, and away you go. Better yet, if you have the wedding in Costco everybody can just load up on all those free samples.

Hope it goes perfectly!
