My big plan for the past year was to go to the New York Comic Con. Not only have I never been to NYC, I've never been to a comic convention. Unfortunately exams and things got in the way of my plan, so I didn't go. But Strange Adventures' owner and all-around awesome dude, Cal Johnston went. And he got me this beautiful Cliff Chiang sketch!
Check it out!!!
Yay!!
I am trying to make it to Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC this summer. Hopefully things will work out for that.

Never been to a comic convention?!? I can hardly believe it. Not to rub it in at all, but you are missing out. You must get cracking!
the ny comic con was cool. i actually have footage of stan lee making a surprise appearance during joe quesada's Q&A
Aw, dang! We could have met up! Oh, well, there's always next year (back in the cold winter, grrr). Yes, shut up, I'm from Texas, I'm no match for your hardy Canadian hide. ;p
That's a great sketch!
Actually, I've never been to a convention either. Always think about it though.
I made it to the New York Con and it was my very first one too. A little intimidating with everything that they hit you with as soon as you walk in honestly but meeting the artists was awesome and made it all worth it. That is a great sketch.
living in NYC i went to the NYCC a couple years ago after a looooog hiatus....and it was a mad house!
although i don't regret going it certainly was taxing. even for an event center as massive as the javits center it was crowded. i actually wasn't even permitted inside on saturday for which i had already purchased tickets for! i was forced to retry for entry on sunday! i've since heard they've tried not to overbook the NYCC but i find that hard to believe, especially since hollywood has stormed the comic con gates.
that sketch is beautiful by the way. it depresses and amazes me that these guys can knock in minutes what would take me hours to accomplish.
Wow!
One of my most treasured posessions is my original Chiang page from GA/BC #1. There is just something about his line work.
