Bath-Man

I was re-reading the JLA: Crisis of Conscience trade because I like it, but sometimes little things can really get you down.

I mean, I don't want to nit-pick because I love a good Batman/Catwoman scene, and I can appreciate how awesome it is that Selina is bringing tea for two down to the Batcave wearing nothing but Bruce's monogrammed bathrobe. HOWEVER...

I dunno. Call me crazy, but I just think that Bruce Wayne's housecoat shouldn't be too small for Selina Kyle.

It's European.

It's for when he wants to show off the goods.

BW stands for 'Bruce's Wang'.

Oh, Alfred. The shit you have to put up with.

That's his form...fitting...robe. Yeah, I got nothin'.

If you don't think that Bruce Wayne just happens to have a whole closet full of monogrammed robes and men's dress shirts that are several sizes too small for him, then DC really has spent a long, long time mucking Batman up.

I was thinking that maybe Selina found one of Bruce's old childhood robes.

or the BW stands for Boy Wonder...

Come on. Would Bruce Wayne not be exactly the sort of person who would keep monogrammed dressing-gowns that are sized and made for ladies in one of his bathrooms, just in case?
They can even take them home after, and the monogram will remind them of Bruce!

I bet it does stand for Boy Wonder, *and* that she found it in Bruce's closet. Or so I'd like to think.

I'm trying to decide which theory I like more: the "Boy Wonder" theory (clever), or the one that says that Bruce offers souvenir bathrobes to the ladies he's romancin'.

Go read Year one again. When Gordon and his wife come by suspecting Bruce is Bats, He is hanging out (hehe) in a super short purple robe (with matching purple slippers). I wonder if Mrs. Gordon was made more uncomfortable by the mute near nude Eurochick or her glimpse of the batpole.

Oh I don't need to read Year One again, for that scene with Bruce Wayne wearing nothing but a short, short robe is etched permanently in my mind (and possibly, one day, on my forearm).

I have to agree. I mean, considering how large a man Bruce is and how broad his chest is usually drawn one would think that she should be able to wrap his robe snugly over her cleavage instead of spilling out. The shortness on the other hand...well it should be about knee-length probably (from what I remember seeing in the comics, Bruce tends to wear a shorter-style robe in warm weather).

It - shrunk in the wash! Yeah, that's just what happened - and Alfred was too ashamed to admit it, so he left it for Selina to wear on those times when she just happens by.... :)

Jeez o'Pete! You know, the scene would have been just as sexy, and maybe a bit less prurient, if Selina had come downstairs in one of Bruce's shirts, and nothing else,

Best,

If Eve Dallas can do it, why can't Selina Kyle?

In the Richard Donner cut of Superman II there's a post-sex scene where Lois is wearing only Superman's shirt. It's really hot. I can't believe that sat on the editing room floor all these years.

Selina Kyle could come downstairs wearing a garbage can and still look sexy.

What slays ME is that the Google ads for this thread offer to sell us bathrobes. Yeah, that's what it's all about, a nice new bathrobe . . .

Google ads crack me up all the time.

You just can't pass anything out do you? I never realized that before you mentioned it. How do you come across so many details? (by the way i believe BW y Boy Wonder too)
