Simmer Down, Lois!

As I have said before on this blog, I could read letters to the editor in Lois Lane comics all day. Like this one:

What really amazes me about these letters...this was before email, y'know? This dude had to write out this letter, put it in an envelope, put a stamp on it, go to a post office, and send it off. And yet, it was important enough to him to get this message to the editors.

In all fairness, that was probably edited down to that one paragraph from a longer letter. They did that stuff all the time back then (Murray Boltinoff did it to me in Brave & the Bold on several occasions...)

Yes, why DOESN'T Lois just stay at home and bake pies? It really is awfully pushy of her to go out there and track down stories and do her job!

Although granted, she could probably stop throwing herself out of windows. That was always a LITTLE over the top.

Yeah, but you know what's really way out there? Letters to Playboy. Like, "Thank you for your pictorial on Mona Bebuperopa. It's a real coup to bring her amazing beauty to our attention. Her classical features are beyond compare. I would [walk on the beach/read poetry/not be phony]with her any time!"

People who take time to comment on blogs are cool, though.
